1948 Chevrolet Stylemaster
The stylemaster was produced by Chevrolet for only 3 short years between 1946 and 1948. While they all shared a similar body style each can be differentiated by subtle changes to the grill designs like the vertical center bar in '48. This very nice sedan was restored to original and the build is all documented. It is a 2 owner car with low original miles and the first owner was in Allen, TX. That means it has been a Texas car since new and it came out of the Arlington, TX GM plant. The body is very solid and entirely rust free. It has no history of accidents. The paint is in excellent condition with a very nice shine and the two tone light gray with dark blue roofline complement each other nicely. They are the original colors and it has been repainted. The original style chrome and stainless was replaced and has a great shine with no pitting or issues. This year had a very unique grill and bumper design which looks great. The cowl vent still works and it also has the vintage visor and rear skirts which are nice original touches. All the lights work and it has no electrical issues throughout. It has new Coker wide whites which look perfect on a car like this. When they were purchased a new spare was added as well. The wheels are painted to match the darker Blue and have Chevrolet hubcaps with chrome beauty rings.
Turning the tires is the original 216 cubic inch 6 cylinder motor. It was fully rebuilt and runs/starts smoothly. It is paired with a 3 speed manual on the column transmission and the original rear end. The suspensions system and brakes have all been gone through and function properly.
Inside is the original style interior that is in great shape. It has all of its original features and everything works. The odometer shows 21,052 original miles and all of the factory gauges work correctly. The original radio was also sent off to be rebuilt and is mounted on the Blue painted dash under the chrome Chevrolet speaker grill. The original steering wheel has two tone paint and a very unique horn ring. The upholstery all looks good and it has a split bench seat up front. The trunk is nicely carpeted and has plenty of extra storage space.
This is a really neat classic and its originality is something that is very tough to come by. It is very well documented and comes with a bunch of receipts and the rare original 1948 Chevrolet manual.
