Most of those pics were from LaPorte Indiana in May. We were at the RPM Fest at the LaPorte Co Fair grounds. We will be in Ks on Aug 22, Transfer Pennsylvania Aug 29, and our final points race will be in Kanawha County, West Virginia on Sept 12. I'm also working on a Quick 16 @ Neeses, Sc on October 24.
I should have posted our race dates for you guys.
I'll post the 2010 schedule somtime in January or February once we have it complete.
Thanks guys and sorry for taking up the whole page

adkruse 08-18-2009 08:32 AM

im torn about it. i was thinking do i sell and get my dream car, or keep it, and keep my dream car a dream..... the thing is a monster. it leaves the line at 5K and reaches for the sky. took me about 3 years to build.

TheRabbit 08-27-2009 02:06 PM

Brand new car. This belongs to a good friend of mine. He's used the name "Heartbeat of America" on another car for more than 20 years. Years ago he was sponsored by GM.

We know your lying Rabbit! First thing you would do is put them bigass paddle tires on the back and go play in the dirt
Seriously, my boys are bustin' my chops to take them down to Ga. and go for a ride in the dirt!

Later

bjuice 09-01-2009 05:01 PM

where's the weight coming from...the tires ?...or does the class make the car add weight ?.........just hard for me to see this thing weighing that Much...

TheYellaBrick 09-01-2009 08:08 PM

Calcium chloride in the tires ?

The motor, clutch, front and rear axle are where all the weight comes from. Even running light weight aluminum brakes / rotors and hubs the front axle (Dana 30) is still pretty heavy. + a 200 lb driver. Not sure what this bare frame weights, but it's pretty light.

It's not easy to build a Big Block (aluminum block) 4 wheel drive rail SAFELY and get it under 2,450 lbs. Most new rides like this one are chrome moly so you can use smaller tubing and make them lighter.
BTW those paddle tires we get from ya'll. They're worn out slicks that have the paddles vulcanized to them. You put the # of paddles to the amount of HP you have. Less hp power will have less paddles. Some guys stagger them too.

We're having our final points race in West Virgina next weekend. (September 12, 2009. Kanawha County, West Virginia. Fair Grounds)

We're also going to have a Quick 16 door slammer race at Neeses, Sc. on October 24.

bjuice 09-14-2009 04:54 PM

how they get them things so clean after playing in the Mudd like they do ?

TheRabbit 09-14-2009 05:03 PM

You can see in the background how many people are in these pit crews.
Some come with as many as 5 or six guys to help.
They don't get as muddy as you think. We're kind of a mix between mud racing and sand drags. This track needed a bunch more water on it to be honest. The more water the more it hooks. (not to much water of course).
BJ we're having a big Door Slammer shootout on October 24 in Neeses, Sc at Thunder Valley Motorplex. It's not very far for you. You should come watch! We could round up some tires for you if you want us too!!

bjuice 09-14-2009 06:39 PM

nooooo lol...i will come and Watch....i like anything like this with Big HP..As the 24th Gets closer lets talk about this more...

as you know already i Met Bobby Dodrel a few months back at Carolina ..is he competing with Scooby and Orsca 10.5 racing too ?

LOL Brian, I was thinking the same thing, reminded me of a buddy of mine who used to run a late models at riverside in West Memphis, Ark.

Sunday Morning he spent 2 hours and about $40 at the local car wash.
Then spend the rest of the week scraping, scrubbing, pounding and straightened out bent body panels, welded up broke stuff etc, but without a doubt come Saturday it was spotless and ready to go.

Only to do it all over agian, man that would drive me insane.

Cp

TheRabbit 09-15-2009 03:36 AM

The way we race at these races it's just wet enough to make the tracks hook. You can make 10 passes and not get very muddy.
This track needed more water to make it hook more.
This is the Heartbeat of America car. It's the only video I have from the race. He didn't place in the top 5. This was the 1st race for this new car so don't worry he'll get it right!

bjuice 09-15-2009 01:46 PM

Cool Vid !!!!....Looks like tghem thangs just get to Running before they are shut off...

do you have a link or something i could get somemore info on the 24th race in Neeces ?

TheRabbit 09-15-2009 02:49 PM

Yes, it was short track. Only 160'. I don't like short tracks, but it's hard to find very much flat ground for a 200' track + 700'+ of shutdown in West Virgirnia!

This is the seb site for Thunder Valley.
We're still working on a flyer for the October 24 Door slammer race.
I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for asking Rabbit. I don't feel too bad considering what all the doc's did. But they say the first two weeks are more serious than the operation. So I just have to make sure I do what they tell me. Thanks again.
