It's one of those RARE factory experimental reverse rotation 3/4 race Corvette engines ! It's worth a TON......of dirt........ :P :P :P
|
It's definately fun to drive. And my kids love it, where as with my 85 truck only 3 of us could ride, now all 4 of us can ride together in something that is fun.

Am just getting this one buttoned up (finally). So far is a fun ride - need to get 'er broke in so I can make a track trip. http://titanmortgageworks.com/TR4-2009/rear-2009.jpg http://titanmortgageworks.com/TR4-20...-tree-2009.jpg[/img] |
Nice
Very nice, what is it. Looks like an Alpine. Did you make the frame yourself?
|
Thanks Fla,
It's a 1967 Triumph TR4. The frame... I'll say I "re-did" the frame myself. Here's a couple before and after shots to save me a LOT of typing. These aren't the best pics - they were more for reference than show. http://titanmortgageworks.com/TR4-20...ont-susp-6.jpg http://titanmortgageworks.com/TR4-20...-susp-1-B4.jpg http://titanmortgageworks.com/TR4-20...rimed-2005.jpg http://titanmortgageworks.com/TR4-20...d%202005-3.JPG http://titanmortgageworks.com/TR4-20...end-2005-6.jpg |
GREAT looking hotrod !!
A project I'll be starting on soon is a '59 English Hilman. We'll be stuffing it with a pumped up 2.3 Ford 4banger. A cute little street car and daily driver for my buddie's wife. Seeing what you did using the stock front suspension is great intel for our project as we were looking into using a Heidt's setup. |
Sweet ride. I love the color.
|
SWEEEET. That would look cool pulling the boat!! :D :D
|
Ha ha
That's hillarious Rabbit !
I think the tow hitch hanging off the back of the car would look odd though  |

In regards to your 2.3 - it just so happens I have a turbo intake taking up space in my attic. I can't remember if it's for a 2.0 liter or 2.3, but is set up for a garret T-3 and a Holley 2 bbl. lemme know if you're interested. Would love to see some pix of the '59 Hillman. - that thing should be cool. |

Thanks! It's a Steve Vance motor. I pulled it out last Thursday night. ( This pic is from last December.) Adding a fogger to it. Funds are limited this year so it's only gonna be 1 stage. I sold the Rabbit and my next truck will be almost 900lbs lighter than the old Rabbit. Can't wait to get it going. Notice the WIX on the motor and on the shelf on the left. NO FRAM IN MY SHOP BOYS!! |
Ok. What kind of truck is Rabbit II gonna be?? Cant wait to see it.
|
an S10.

am asking this question in an "educate me" tone (am not questioning your set up) You have a 4 stage dry sump with all stages pulling from the pan, why not from the lifter valley or rear of the heads ? also - what kind of carburetion will you have on this ? |
The majority of the oil is gonna be in the pan and the lines have to be completly submerged in oil to work. Oil drainage from the heads and lifter valley would not be enough to supply the pump.
AED carb running Q16 fuel. |

AED carb running Q16 fuel. I run mine from the pan only as well, and have thought I was lacking by not having it pulling from other passages. Other set-ups I've seen (like on nascar dry systems [no - am not a nascar fan] - or formula) I've seen where they have 2 of the 4 stages pulling from ea. side of the rear of the head, one pulling from the back of the lifter valley (thru the block - or down thru intake) and one from the pan... but have also seen like yours - pulling from the pan only. I guess as long as your getting the oil where it needs to be it's all good. |
Because NASCAR races are an 'endurance' type of engine activity, they use vast quantities of oil to cool the valve trains, hence return lines at the rear of the heads.
|
The guy that built mine was a Nascar egine builder for a few years for Gibbs. I'll have to ask him to help me on this. The only way I've ever seen it done on a drag motor is out of the pan.

OK plane and simple ( which is how I asked him to explain it to me)
You want to create the most amout of vacuum possible with the oil pump. With only 4 stages like mine you put all of them in the pan under the rings. 6 stages you would put the other 2 in the head and lifter valley which really helps keep the windage down. Hey thanks for the ? I learned something new. |
