"Sounds like one to keep :D Let us know when you get your 496 done.I want to know if I can beat you.Specs???"
We tried to make it work but after nineteen years we decided to call it quits. Engine specs are..... Eagle 4340 rotating assemble W/ H beams rods, 13 to 1 srp, Merlin vr345 cc heads, T&D shaft mount roller rockers, dart intake, lunati 722/722 solid roller, HP 1050 dominator. Car Specs are.... 69 camaro fiberglass everything minus roof and top rear quarters, lexan on doors and side glass, 2x3 tube chassis firewall back, 1.76 glide from ambruzi racing, Trans Specialties custom 8 inch spragless 5800rpm converter, ladder link set up w/ coil overs on a narrowed dana 60 W/ 568 cogs, 33x 10.5w's slicks. What do you think it will run in the 1/8? Charles |
5.50's-5.70's ???
just a uneducated guestimate. |
This is a W.A.G. 5.50s or faster, depending on how it hooks, i usually guess pretty good on Passtime. Let us know will ya?
|
I think the key word there is "IF" it hooks...lol
The rearend and rims will hold a much bigger tire but going with the 10.5W's cause they are new and were on the car when I got it., will see. Thanx guys for the replies and goodluck this weekend to all racing. Charles |
Yeah. You got me beat :D .Let me know how that cam feels.Been looking at one similar to that. You got a grind number for that cam?5.50 sounds awful fast to me :?: But it really anybody's guess!!!

I try to compare his car to mine, its really apples to oranges. Mine weighs 1850 lbs. i really have no idea how much his weighs. i know his has gobs more hp than mine. i can run 5.90s at will. i may very well be low on that, Its a WAG :) I*m not THAT good at guessing on Passtime.

If it hooks. |
My car has a 496.11:1 with a 652 lift solid roller(Comp 308 AR).Charles, you got more compressoin and a larger cam(obviously  ).My car wieghs 3125 lbs without me,I'm 240 lbs.I've run a best of 6.90 at 98mph but I really believe it's got 2 or 3 tenths left in it,since I never got a chance to tune it very much last year.I don't think the difference in your motor would make your car run a full second and a half quicker than me.I looked it up on a program of my buddies one time,a 3300 lb car needs 1100 hp to run a 5.70 in the 1/8.Don't know if that is true,I don't have alot of faith in "computer dynos",though they do seem to be fairly accurate.I would GUESS that your car weighs about 2700-2900 lbs(am I right :?: :D ) and that it will run 6.00-6.30.Let me know so I know what I am shooting for to beat. :D

3300 lbs going 660 ft is2,178,000 ft lbs of work. You*re doing it in 5.7 seconds, so thats 382105.2632 ftlbs per second. Divide that by 550ftlbs per second ( 1 hp ), you get 695 hp. Thats from start line to finish line and thats an average. So peak rear wheel hp would be higher, now if someone can come up with a peak #, we can add frictional losses and come up with peak flywheel hp. :) I think?
