Our Condolences to the Kalitta Family and Friends and Fans

To whom this may concern:
We are sure Scott had the best safety equipment provided with his resources; however, without the tracks having a longer and proper shutdown area, all the safety equipment in the world could not or would not save his life or the life of any other driver.

Thank you Racing Junk for allowing us to voice our opinion.

Thoughts and Prayers go out to the Kalitta Family

shut down area

This morning on NHRA today, Jim Head said hes been trying to get the races at shorter tracks changed to 1000 ft or even I/8 mile. As He stated some of the older tracks were designed for 200 mph cars, not 300. A concrete retaining wall at the end of the track is not a pretty sight. One of our local tracks has a barrier and then pine trees.

Scott

Our prayers go out for Scott and his family. Hopefully the racing federations will learn from this needless death and insist on longer shut down areas without solid barriers behind the sand pits. You have to give the drivers a better chance of surviving when something does go terribly wrong.

I agree the shut down area look way to short.
scott will be missed by everyone. my prayers for his family.
Just my opinion, but I think it's awful for ESPN or anybody to show the wreck on TV. they should think more about the family than "viewers" before putting it on TV. jmo!,
and i hope this makes all tracks safer.
