Hollysprings and Byhalia are opening up the first weekend in march. Just 4 more short weeks! I have to get mine and the boy's mustang ready, both motors are tore down right now. Replacin heads gaskets on mine and doing some routine stuff, his engine and tranny swap. I should be done with the mustang by the weeks end if the tranny is back by then, wish me luck! Replacing my 477 with a 540 and new converter. Hoping to go from 9.70s to 9.00s. US 131 opens first weekend in April for testing. Start racing in May.

I have been VERY busy around here. I got a new motor, a 408 that put down 738 hp on the dyno. Switched over to Methanol, New glide, took out my 4.86 1/8 mile gears for some 4.11 1/4 mile set up, New dash with Elite 500 box and Race Data dash, new converter.
I am hoping to run 8.1's my heavy dragster... Busy around here, like everyone else... Edgewater opens the last weekend of the month if the weather is good! |
Oh yeah, Putting in a bigger radiator. Mayabe taking the shogun waterpump off and going with an electric on the engine. Possibly a Proform. Maybe adding an alternator. All depends on cash available. After making some test passes, I may need to get my NHRA license.
I was only a tenth under berfore, 6.30's in the 1/8. We'll see what happens with the new converter and gear. |
I'm hoping to get my junk in the 5.90's this year. Ran a best of 6.08 last year. I don't have much cam so it doesn't et in the 1/4 only ran a best of 9.97. The 02 and better carb should help me tune a little better, I know it was pretty fat on the big end.

I've made some changes over the winter, motor freshen up, new rods, pistons, springs, lifters, valve job. It has added compression and different rod combo. Hoping for a few more horse out of her. Trans and converter are in process of a freshen up also. New shoes for the rear and its ready to go. A slow winter has been sitting on jackstand sense I pulled motor in nov :shock: I also purchased a new to me truck and soon new or new to me trailer. |
We don't get going up here till 1st. of May .........Car is just about ready to go. I'll be running the OSCA pro comp. class this summer and hopefully a old goat out of Manie :P

Tom's out runnin the hills and the lakes on his fleet of sleds .He's the only guy I know that has a sled for every day of the week :P
