12an to the pump (need a big filter also Enderle is prefered) 10an to regulator, 8an to carb is plenty.
Your confident its not a carb issue, them C&S carbs with them floats have been known to be a issue.

Yes many things can cause this. What is your fuel pressure when this breaking up happens ?

How much actual HP are you making? That pump should EASILY supply your motor, even on alcohol.....
