Nah, go ahead and keep the carb and then we will all know you the kind of man you present yourself to be...and want others to recognize you....

So now do you really think it is the right thing to do and we are all full of crap and your the only smart and honest man on here...

Oh yea, we are real glad to know you and welcome to the forums and I am sure you will have lots of friends on here now....

I mean,if he told you it was an honest mistake, and then paid to send you the carb, out of his pocket. The least you could do is return the favor. How much would it really cost to send it?$15-20 at the most?Or,did you decide to be greedy and keep his carb for free?Which is the same as stealing it,if you ask me.

AND.... not only is Mopar out his carb...he also lost 130 bucks for shipping.
To me it is sort of like when the girl at the retauraunt acidentally gives you back too much change. It wasn't your fault..it was her mistake. If you are a scumbag you just keep it and go on about your day...then she gets to pay the money back because it was her mistake. A decent person gives it back.
The title of this thread is acurate..because you sure don't want to be doing ANY dealing with this jrlj guy...not in a million years. But I guess I should just get a life cause I am just a trouble making troll.

not quite. asked you to act the same on here as privately.

Tod74 at least use a good analogy. how bout the waitress gives you the wrong food, terrible service, and then badmouths you, comes back and says sorry, I was wrong, please take this food for free on me because of what I've done. much more accurate.

when mark called he was very clear he wanted me to keep his carb for the hassle, did not want anything in return, I offered, told him that was not necessary, he insisted, said he was sorry for all the bad words and hassle, then gets on here and acts like I ripped him off. thanks for all of you keyboard racers. good luck to mark, he needs it

Keep telling yourself whatever makes you feel better. He screwed up on the original trade and although he did make a post about you here, your inconvenience doesn't warrant a free carburator. My analogy was correct. Your actions here confirm what he was warning us about...You are not the type of person most want to do business with.
Have a wonderful summer.

You should sell the carb., Keep what you think is fair for your troubles and send him what is left over. I think the guy deserves something for his headache and it was insisted that he take it.

67ss396chevelle 03-21-2008 07:52 AM

Well to start with mop made the offer for him to keep it. I think a fair resolution to both parties would be to SELL the carb and split the money. Obviuosly mop sees something wrong in his dealings (intentional or not) and made an offer to rectify the situation. if you think that is not a fair offer then you should tell mop "that was a stupid thing to do". Maybe jrlj values his time more than you do and feels like this is fair. you fellas act as if jrlj is stealing his carb when that is in no way the case. I assume mop is a grown man that can make decisions on his own whether good or bad he still made it. in short, live with the decision you made.. good or bad.

I hope I didnt ruffle too many feathers. its just my .02.

I would say you ruffled a few. believe me they will let you know quick !!! What i don't understand you have been on here for 3-4 years now posted two post both on my thread?

Indeed Mopar you raise an interesting point re 67SS.

But I wanted to comment on what I think everyone is trying to get at. You make a mistake, a bad deal whatever. Both sides are unhappy, but there is one side who feels it important to make the first move.

So Mopar, you offer for JR to keep the carb for his trouble. Then what I would expect and we usually see is that the other person would appreciate your offer, see it for the fact that it is intended to make things right then turn it down. The offer is what has value, not the damn carb.

JR should have realized that there was a communication mistake, been appreciative of your offer and then met that generosity by returning the carb. deal done, friends made and everyone happy.

When he kept the carb and said he did it because you told him that was the deal? It became all about the money.

But then these days it is all about the money right? Not about doing whats right, making friends and building relationships, even meeting trading partners.

Mopar, what that carb deal/final offer bought you is the admiration and respect of many on this board.

JR, returning it would buy you the same.

My opinion as always,

Later

Would it change the anything at all if I had 10000 post on here before this one? no. This is an open forum for all members so I figured I would put my .02 in. I would have done the same thing you did mop after things went the way they did. I would have offered to compensate him for his troubles but I would not have let things continue the way they have in this thread. If you honestly did not want to offer compensation then the words "keep my carb" should have never been spoken. Fellas I drag race too and I try to help people out when I can but there comes a time when you make mistakes and someone else is affected in a negative way. If you feel the need to make things right with honest intentions of doing just that, then you should actually expect the other person to take what you are offering as just that.. compensation.

Mop I am sorry things got messed up in your deal but I wouldnt let these guys bash on jrlj for accepting an offer you made. Chalk it up to experience and be sure the next person you deal with has pictures of what you are sending them.

Yes mop I can read LOL. If it were me I would try to explain to these guys that seem to be coming down on jrlj that I was the one that GAVE him my carb because of a mistake I made. Seeing as how you were the one that made the mistake in representing your carb as something it was not (unintentionally ok) it would seem only fair that jrlj was not responsible for your $130 loss. as for the 3 carbs you say you lost well I dont know where the dominator came into play but the 850 was the property of jrlj from the start and you gave up the 750. I guess the only one you could have lost would be the dominator but dont know the story on that one. Maybe what you say is right, and when jrlj offers compensation for a deal gone bad because of him they will accept it and "what went around came around"

I dont in any way want you to thik I am attacking you personally mop. like I said before just my opinion on the matter.

Point out where to fill out my profile and I will gladly do so. I have been a member here for years and I dont know what the whole imposter thing is about. I dont always agree with the "masses" so I tend to not join in on the bashings that go on. I have looked at all the "facts" of the post and I stand by my opinion 100%. I am sure that you fellas have gathered together and muscled some BAD members into doing what is right and I say"GREAT JOB" but in my opinion this situation is not one of those. jrlj may be one of the biggest scammers on here or he may just be a good guy in a bad situation, I dont know. I only see what has been posted in this thread and that is what I used to draw an opinion off of.

and I have actually been here 4 years 1 month and 9 days which is longer than your 3 years 4 months and 18 days..not that it matters

First of all no-one said anything about me misrepresenting the carb i had untill now, so it is either you know Jim or related to him watching this forum to see what is going on. some folks may get a laugh from this but only myself and Jim talked about the carb's and what they were, so how did you find out about the carbs? the dominator came in because it went first for the 750 carb Jim now has, and like i told Jim if you would care to read the complete thread, everyone on here knows what i told jim. I have read the post but maybe you have not. maybe that is where all the confusion came from to begin with? I dont know jrlj at all but if we were brothers would it change what actually went on even a little bit? NO. In fact the above post indicates a post was made stating you did misrepresent (not intentionally maybe) what you had. I think its funny how your trying to find some kind of flaw or conspiracy in my post.
you posted that you LOST the dominator in this thread as if you losing it had something to do with jrlj when in fact it doesnt.

Even the box read SPEED DEMON? ok lets answer some simple questions fellas..

Who misrepresented what they had (accident or not)?
Who represented what they had correctly?
Who rerouted the carb they were returning? Who evers fault it was (manager, janitor or the butler) it still happened.
Who was it that said "keep my carb for your troubles?
Why did you wait 5 days to ship your carb to him?
Who came on here and made the original post (maybe prematurely)?
If it were me I would sell the carb for $150 or whatever I could get out of it and send you (mop) half.

Maybe jrlj does deserve something for his headache.

Southeast Alabama. OK fellas I am coming clean..I am jrlj's lost conjoined twin brother. I have been waiting for this day to make myself known to anyone.

Later

in case 67ss396chevelle missed this part. Nobody disputes that Mopar gave him the carb...it is what is stated in the above quoted post that is the real issue...at least for me.

I can see both sides of it....kinda.There was a mixup, and I'm NOT gonna pick sides on that. When mopar offered for him to keep the carb, sounds like things I have done in the past.Something doesn't go exactly as planned, one party gets all riled up and you look for a quick fix to end it.Sometimes your mouth outruns your brain. We all understand that mopar freely offered the card to jrlj, all we are saying is that if jrllj was kinda greedy to accept something that costly as "payment" for all his "trouble".Mopar was trying to right the situation, probably didn't think things thru all the way and jrlj took advantage of the situation.Mopar did not come on here saying that jrlj stole his carb.He came on here, originally, saying that jrlj was just hard to deal with. From the posts we've all read,I think we can all agree on that.Mopar never asked for his carb back.WEasked for his carb back.Mopar was being too nice.Jrlj was,and is being too greedy. After all,if that carb caused him SOOO much trauma in his life, and it was something that he DID NOT WANT,why does he want to hold on to it so badly?Mopar has done nothing wrong. So everybody shut up off him and quit accusing him of being tricky. It is OBVIOUS that by his VOLUNTARY financial loss in this dealing that he is not out to get over on anyone. The only post that needs to go up here,IMHO,is the one saying Jrlj sent it back after realizing that he didn't need the money from selling it to cover his counseling to help him recover from such a traumitizing ordeal

Maybe if you had read the post on this forum you would have a better understanding of the situation. Age in no way equals wisdom and at your age you should know that by now. My age does not have anything at all to do with this matter now does it. I have only been racing for about 19 years but I have had dealings with people all my life. AS far as earning respect well, I would rather have the respect of one man that is fair than that of a 1000 that are not.
