i pulled the sparks, they all look fine cept for the 3rd.....it was wet...tho i couldnt tell if its from some oil that got splashed out from the cover being off or what....tho it didnt feel oil wet it felt water wet

kwkracing 08-24-2009 06:59 PM

You didnt by chance smell them did you?? To see if they smelt like oil, fuel, or antifreeze?

Was it wet at the electrode?

no i didnt smell then, well, i smelled the wet one and it just smelled like water, meaning didnt smell at all, and it was wet on the part that goes into the engine

I agree with kwkracing , seems pretty obvious , the plug being wet or not has nothing to do that knock...YOU'VE GOT AN OILING PROBLEM .

i never said the wet spark was causing it, someone had asked me what my sparks looked like so i told them what they looked like :)

:D THATS COOL :D

CamBirdRacing 08-25-2009 08:14 AM

Looking at the #1 intake rocker, looks like you might have some bad lifters. But they normally don't make that kind of sound. That sounds more like a rod bearing or wrist pin. But that #1 rocker sure looks not up to par.

Get a bicycle, it will be easier for you to work on.

cepx111 08-25-2009 09:21 PM

Slap the V/C back on drive the wheels off of it till it blows, then you'll know for sure what the the problem was, otherwise tear the thing down and do an inspection.
It's obvious it's an internal issue.
Those engines are notorious for having lots of lifter issues, piston slap and piston pin problems anyway, your beating a dead horse get busy fixing it or buy a rebuilt unit and be done with it.

well now, if thats what you can do with your stuff, you must have money, maybe you can lend me some and i can get my stuff fixed insted of sitting here asking for help?
:)

kwkracing 08-25-2009 10:37 PM

Well where is the car located?
We are saying it is gonna cost more to fix, because that is a major problem than you could hopefully get a cheap car for.
When any kind of metal gets circulated thru the oil, it quickly wears every lubricated part in the engine. That means the more you start it the more clearance everything gets, not just the loose rod or broke piston you have.

cepx111 08-25-2009 10:50 PM

Didn't mean to sound arogant or calous, for that I do apologize.

You've had multiple people on here give some good advise but instead of acting on it you've been beating around the bush.
It's definelty an internal issue with the motor it's time to break out some tools.
