thanks guys :) You'd all be amazed as to what my log book looked like all weekend. I wanted to change converters so I stuck another one in it sunday night and ran it on monday it went identical et's as the old did though. Split times from 60 to 330 6 runs was 2.033 until I lost at 9 cars it slowed up to 2.046.

fast75vega 07-10-2011 08:51 AM

well... enjoyed a great day of racing sat. didnt get done till almost midnight ... we had bike/sled class...9.90 index class... pro rod class....box/no box class.... gasser class.....east coast impala shoot out class.... junior drags.... whew there was alot of racing

i went out first round and had to take that drive of shame to the buy back lane..... and then got straight tree'ed ......

my brother made the semi for no box and red lit  and my brother-in-law made the quarter finals and broke out.... but we all had a blast :D

BEAST477 07-10-2011 09:08 AM

Well finally went some rounds last night. Started with 70-80 cars, made it down to 6. Big improvement and a little money to boot. 8)

curtisreed 07-10-2011 09:15 AM

Good job Beast.

I got my first win last night at Tulsa's Night of Fire race. :D :D :D :D :D Cool having a few thousand people to watch you when you're going rounds. Didn't get home until 2:30am, so it was a long night.

Curtis

Oh, I also had my first perfect light in the fourth round. It's funny how fast you catch someone when your .000 and he is .110 LOL.

Way to go!

A few years ago I made the triple o club and the dead on club
in the same night ! Must have sat on a four leaf clover
Makes ya realize how close you came to losing though, but that's racing.

Good going again Beast :D

wazup 07-10-2011 10:50 AM

Its great to here everyone is having fun and making a few dollars. I hope to be up and running at the end of the month.

I have run the night of fire and had a blast doing it with my friends and family. Its one of the toughest quick 32 feilds, it seems like all the heavy hitters come out. The only thing i dont like is we always run after the jets and the track is pretty slippery so i wait and pull in late to the staging lanes.

Well good luck to eveyone. Just got to love this thread and the guys and there cars and stories. :)

Way to go boy's!!!!!,I felt like I was skipping school last nite.Went next door to the round track to watch the winged outlaw sprint cars run on a half mile paved oval.WOW.!!!! Top sprint car was making laps in 14.6 seconds avg. speed of 124mph,there's enough bank in the track that they never lift.!! Took the wife and daughter,we had a blast, had to drive within 20 feet of the staging lanes of the drag strip to get there, all my bud's were hollering at me to get over there.!!LOL Both tracks are side by side. :D

hammertime 07-10-2011 06:12 PM

Great job guys !!

curtisreed 07-11-2011 03:31 AM

Thanks Brian. I'm not ready for summer to come to an end but after racing in 105° Saturday I am ready for it to back down just a little.  Don't see an end in sight right now either.

BEAST477 08-14-2011 05:41 PM

Thanks guys. Finally got to race today. Sat under canopies all day yesterday and watched it rain.
Not a real good day racing though, found a bad coil wire and replaced it before first round but didn't fix my problem. :? These electrical gremlins are driving me nuts.

wazup 08-14-2011 06:50 PM

I have a freind that has a 7s ride, the car ran fine before he had it painted and ran into all kinds of elc problems. I geuss the paint job and over spray on some of the wires had something to do with it. He ended up rewiring the car and all his problems were gone. He dosent know way other than maybe static electricity. Sounds carzy but it worked.

Re; Electrical Gremlins.
During the painting process, static electricity can build up. Solution is to ground the chassis during the actual paint application.

I geuss you learn things as they come. Who would have thought that a paint job would have played havoc on the elc.

I am going to paint my car and you better beleive it will be grounded and all the wires disconnected from the electroncs.

Yeah the only thing you got to do is run a chain from your rear axle to the ground. All it has to do is just sit on top of the ground to be grounded. I have used this technique every time I paint a car. It also helps to keep the lint and stuff from coming off of your clothes and onto your paintjob.

Dennis, good to see ya still around ! How ya been ?

Been doing good. I am currently nursing a cut right thumb that just had 3 stitches taken out today. Started getting infected so glad I went back in before it got too bad. Trying to figure out what to do with the car still. Cant think of a paintjob yet. All I know is that it is more than likely going to be Candy Apple Green with Purple, Blue, and Black also.
