Well my time runs were 9.33 and 9.34. So first round we dial a 9.33, well I'm late on the tree but catch him at the stripe only to break out by .04. He breaks out by .03  . So to the buy back window I go. Dial 9.28 cut a decent light .019 dump at the stripe scrub 7mph and go 9.32. Next round I dial down to a 9.26 and run a 9.264 and lose :( oh yeah had a .134 light. Had a carb issue but things are coming around.

wazup 08-29-2011 05:32 PM

bb, Call Greg at FTI and you will find the BEST customer service around. I bought a trans and convertor from them. I have run a few passes on the trans and its all SFI and a 1800hp trans. I have not had chance to try the convertor yet as my motor is still down. I have heard nothing but good things about them and picked up my trans in person and everyone was very friend

Hope to be up and running in the next week or so as my lifters wiil be here tomorrow form Crower.

PTC, Kenny Ford, Mussle Shoals Ala.been running his stuff for 10 yrs. and most of the guys i know here in La. and Ms. are running his converters. He's not only hands on but a fellow racer. In fact he was the national champion in the 7.00 class in 2010 runing on a protree. Tell him that John Allen sent you and he's probably only charge you a $100.00 extra  , that's what he told one customer that i sent him, just for mentioning my name. Ofcourse he was just kidding, we're good friends for yrs. and i will guarentee he will stand behind anything he builds at his cost less shipping.

Glad you got it sorted out, I'll give ya a call this week, been super busy.

curtisreed 09-12-2011 09:56 AM

We had our last points race yesterday. It was great. #1 and #2 in our class ended up racing in the final. #2 won and took the championship. I went out at 4 cars and finished 3rd in points. Not bad for my first year in points and only second full year driving. I'm happy :D :D . Won 2 races, finished in the money numerous times. Made enough to cover what I spent this year.

Bob Frey was at the track filming us for a sportsman track of the month segment that will air during the NHRA sportsman show on Oct. 1st. It was great having him announce some while he was there. I wish I could have recorded what he was saying about me. It's not every day you get a living legend in our sport at your track.

Not finished racing this year just done with points, can't wait until next year to try it again.

TheRabbit 09-17-2011 05:12 AM

Thats cool Beast. Nice turn around the other year!
The last few months have been pretty good for me too. I've been lucky enough to make a few bucks and get ahead eventhough I had the major repair in the spring. I still haven't gotten a converter (last thing needed) yet so I can run my single stage fogger. Just haven't wanted to take the chance of hurting the motor while I'm trying to get the nos figured out.

bbchevy 09-17-2011 05:49 AM

We have had it rough this year. Nothing broken but no wins. My driver shook it off and hit the $10,000 at Pittsburgh Raceway tonight. Makes the season a little better.

It's been a down season. Normally win a money race or 2 before now. Haven't won anything up until this weekend.

Also a shout out to Hammertime for the Top Dragster win at Milan today.

Good job on your win Shawn.

You too David(Hammertime) good seeing you this weekend at US 131.

hammertime 09-19-2011 05:21 AM

Thanks Pink and Mike. Was good to see you @ 131 Mike, congrats on the 8.99 run.

It also has been a down year for me, so turning on a win light in a final was a great thing to see. I made a big change in the last week to my racing program, I took my Ron Injection off and replaced it with a 1250 APD Alky carb. Not only did the carb run almost identical it was more consistent from what I can see so far. Big thumbs up to APD on a great carb.

That's a nice way to end the year!! I'd much rather start with a bad season then win a big race at the end than vice versa. Makes you look forward to next season knowing your on your game. I hate waiting all winter to see how all the changes you made over the winter are gonna work out.

Congratulations for the win.

PS It's racing. QUIT WHILE YOUR AHEAD!

Well I just can't leave well enough alone. Finally bought a tighter converter and gonna pick it up on my way down to a race in Fl. this weekend. Plans are to put it in Friday morning and race with 1 small stage of NOS Saturday. Hope it goes well or I'll be bringing my parts back in a bucket!
Anybody near Bithlo, Fl. come on over and watch the race Saturday and Sunday.

Scooterz 10-10-2011 02:45 PM

Sounds good to me Wabb. It's in your blood... tough to loose your roots man.

I hope you nail it & take no mercy on the competition... you will have a better mouse-trap too.

Until then, may God grant you safe travels, favor & no troubles, all with a stone cold clear mind. I hope you OWN THIS WEEKEND... perhaps it will restore your nerves about your place in racing mud. It may be not be much, but you are the best damn mud racer I have ever known or talked to. Go out there & make this a weekend to remember forever... ROCK THAT TRACK.

Thanks Greg. It was nice to have time to hang out and talk after we were done for the day.
I had a good time also that day, car ran real good, just the guy driving drove like it was the first race of the year instead of the last.

TheRabbit 10-18-2011 03:50 PM

A short vid. from last weekend in Fl. Don't laugh to bad at my passes. I hate going to a race not prepared. I put a new converter in Thursday night and hooked up my nos at the track Friday. This was the first time I ever went down the track with it on (a 200 shot speed tech fogger with a 6 point spread -10* with VP Q16 fuel. I did hit it in the field to check the plugs one time before the race) I gotta get a little higher gear 'cause as you can see it was wound up a little. I had the front and rear shocks set to tight. Track didn't hook very well because it was to dry and sandy, but it's my fault for not getting off my butt and having my truck dialed in a long time ago.
Check me out at 28 sec. and at 1:47. (I ended up 5th)
Check out Rajun Cajun at 1:03. (he got 2nd)

New way to loose.

Found a new way to loose a race last nite.Going into the secound round of a 5.70 index race, had a hour between rounds and the car was cold.Decided to warm it up , and the motor started making strange noise's,almost like a rod or broken rocker. This is what i found after I got it in the trailer.Couldn't make the call for the next round.

Glad it was just the header I guess, valve cover leaking last week as you can see on the header next to the one that broke.WOW !!!

Could be support problem. The first two tubes are slip tubes to fit around the steering shaft.
