NHRA Super Gas Muffler requirements

I am building a super gas car and I would like to buy a muffler insert to put into my header collector. I want the muffler insert that will pass the NHRA sound requirements guaranteed no questions. Anybody got any recommendations?

NHRA has looked to see if you have somekind of muffling but have never seen or heard of them checking for sound with a meeter !!!!!!

Hammertime,

I checked with Ben Wilson Div 7 tech director and he would not recommend any brand or type. He suggested I talk with some of the other supergas guys to find out what they are using that passes tech.

sg1586,

Which dynatech mufflers are you talking about?

dynatech has the

1. collector muffler.
2. slip on race muffler.
3. sprint muffler

Thanks

sg1586,

Sorry

I just looked at your post again and saw you meant the collector muffler.

Do you have any thoughts on the slip on race muffler?

The collector mufflers are nice as they don't take up much more room the the regular collectors....And there quiet also..

I had a buddy use a set of Walker bullet mufflers attached to the collector.
If I remember they were only about 60 bucks as he found them in the back of the Walker catalog.. 8)

I use aset of 4" ID bullets attached right to a set of flowtech collectors.
