shawnp 09-15-2008 06:01 PM

Now the real question is what the rest of the lights looked like. Anyone can flinch once, but to flinch consistently is skill

I think it was called a lucky redlight on NHRA, yesterday when someone had a .402.
But an old man i know (65 yrs. old) who had a 4 bypass surgery in 2006, won again sat nite that's 2 wins and one runner up in as 3 weeks. His worse light sat. nite was .411, with a 4.0006 in the final and his worse dial was .0026 over, and that's with a 3,000lb car.
So yes it was a good reaction time.

Anytime you can cut a perfect 50 light thats good, it means your really trying, it's far better to red light every once in awhile trying for them great 50 lights than to have lazy lights.
But remember what WJ always said about them perfect or near pefect lights, "It's just a bad job of red lighten"
Great job gungho!

thanx!!

dparker 09-16-2008 07:56 AM

Show me one with a win. Ill take my .010 with a win in eliminations over a .000 in time trials any day. But if thats your first .000 light congrats to you. Getting pumped about dragracing is what keeps our sport growing. I definately could have used that light at our bracket finals last weekend, when I lost in the semis to someone with a .011 package.
But really, if I had a .000 in time trials, Im putting numbers in my box. Not to change the subject, but what kind of car are you running?

Tod74 09-16-2008 11:16 AM

A friend of mine had a perfect light and went dead on his dial in at Tere Haute a few years ago....I think it was in National Dragster...anyhow What sucked was the took his time slip(don't recall why) and were supposed to get it back to him later and they lost it. :?

spib 09-16-2008 06:50 PM

GOOD JOB!!!!! congrats my best is a .001 and a .007 and at one two day race this summer went red three times, first time I went red, had to do it three times that weekend

Fabulous car & yes it's registered & you, like me would drive it a little on the street,it'd be great.

dparker 09-17-2008 11:45 AM

Now thats a authentic looking racing ChevyII. Hows that straight front axle work.
take care

gungho 09-17-2008 11:56 AM

Yes I drive it everywhere, its about 20 miles to the track and I drive it there too.I built the car here with that axle setup,it drives good on the street, until you have to turn at high speed
