man , looks like a LOT of work left to do for that kind of money , BUT ,it depends on what YOU want,,,half the fun to me is in the build....it definitly has potential..

BEAST477 07-17-2010 04:44 PM

Signs, I agree with maniac. Lots of work left to do for that kind of money.
It's a buyers market right now. Unless you got money burning a hole in your pocket, I wouldn't make the trip unless I could get it for $3000.00 less than the asking price. But that's just me. I know what I paid for my Nova rolling that came with more stuff and didn't need paint. It wasn't close to what they are asking.

Tod74 07-17-2010 05:00 PM

Too much money in my opinion. I understand my car is NOT a 63 and the market is different for the older NOVAS, but I gave $3200 for mine as a roller in 1996. 12 BOLT, new slicks, lexan, fiberglass hood ,deck lid ,and bumpers. Looked just like it does now only the wheels were different.

I think there are better deals out there. jmo

signsbyesa 07-17-2010 05:12 PM

OK WHICH ONE OF YOU SPOKE TO MY WIFE! just joking,
thanks for the imput, i think i'll offer 5k and see what happens,

itsabird 07-17-2010 05:46 PM

sign i have to agree with everyone else, seems a bit much to me.

mopar1968 07-17-2010 06:39 PM

I have to agree alot of money for the car needs too much work :!:

fla1976 07-17-2010 07:49 PM

Rollers are cheap right now. Too much money for the amount of work required. JMO

Yes. I had to wire it, instal a fuel system, motor and trans. I have never even messed with the suspension. I put Wilwood discs on front but other than that all I do is crawl under it and make sure the bolts are tight once in awhile. I bought it in 1996 from a guy in his late 60's I would estimate that was getting out of racing. I asked "what does what when you adjust the ladder bars?" He said "DON'T F%$# WITH IT!!!" I said "Yeah but.." he said "DON'T F*&^ WITH IT IT WORKS!"

SO i DON'T F^%$ WITH IT.

Car would probably hook in the snow.

I got lucky.

signsbyesa 07-17-2010 10:45 PM

come on tod, when the old man wasn't looking, you went under
there and messed with it cause you just had to right, heh
i had posted an ad wanting a nova project and this kid about a hour
away sent me pics of his project and it was a 72 nova backhalved
and thats it, it still need cage, front work and he wanted 19k, so
you got a hell of a deal for that price and the car looks great,
so yea, best advice the old man gave you, don't fck with it,

BEAST477 07-18-2010 01:37 AM

Hey signs, check out add 1902974 and it's turnkey.

fla1976 07-18-2010 03:35 AM

Another roller for $7500.

http://www.racingjunk.com/category/0...et-roller.html

cam67152 07-18-2010 07:18 AM

$5000 is still alot of money for a car in that kind of state.
But sometimes you just have to have it :!: :!:
If you plan on racing it seriously make sure the cage specs out!

hammertime 07-18-2010 07:41 AM

Local racer had one same year and in the same condition of being done.
He sat on it for months @ 5500.00 never could sell it and traded it.

It may be the same one not sure it went a little ways away ..

signsbyesa 07-18-2010 10:30 AM

http://www.racingjunk.com/category/1...ova-wagon.html

bjuice 07-18-2010 03:46 PM

here is your car for the $$$$

not trying to price the mans stuff but I would bet 5k cash in person would take that wagon home and your playing on the track the same night.... looks like A LOT fun for No work and little money !

hollowayshotrods 07-19-2010 06:53 PM

signsbyesa 07-22-2010 04:04 PM

ok guys, talked to kenny who owns the 63 chev car, reeeeal
nice guy, offered him 4k and he said too low, and after talking
with him and telling him i would be coming from tx he said he would
take no lower than 6k, and thro in 2 new leather racing seats, he said
he would need 7k to come out even, told him i would think about it
and look into trans from VA to TX, what you think, and thanks, ernest in tx

hollowayshotrods 07-23-2010 05:14 AM

I really believe for that kind of money, you could find a car with alot more finished on it. Fact is though, I have bought something against sound advice simply because I wanted it! Good luck Ernest.

THERATTLER 07-23-2010 05:31 AM

no argument , the car could be made into something great , IF you have the time and money to complete it...the value of an object is what is worth to you. if it is what you want to tackle then by all means , go for it,,,,,Paul

ccperf721p 07-23-2010 05:42 AM

While I do agree you can get more car for your money, it wouldn't be a back-halved 63 Chevy II. If a back-halved 63 Chevy II is what you want and this guy has a nice piece, buy it. There aren't that many 63's out there.

Back in 1988, when I was 18, I wanted a 70 Chevelle. I searched long and hard for just the right car. Found a 307 2bbl car that had never been wrecked and still had the hubcaps on it. It cost me good money and I pulled pretty much everything out of it but it was a solid base with everything intact. I still own the car.

Scooterz 07-24-2010 02:17 PM

Howdy Signs, I hope you are well my friend.

First impression: too high priced. I believe "you could get more bang for you buck".

After some thought & investigation: Everyone here including myself can say this: "You could not build this car for that price" ... no matter what, you will be into the car for a pretty penny if you have plans to keep her. So what is the question... you & the seller are a grand or so from making a deal on a very desireable car that is hard to find laying around. I mean it is a 63 chevII w/ backhalf, cage, all the hard stuff... looks like tin work is done... lots of extra parts too... car is not that incomplete. It is always our nature to down-play a car w/o a motor, doors installed, glass, in primer etc.... fact is that he HAS done a lot of work on that car... beauty is in the eye of the beholder. A roller 63 in decent condition is worth what- about 4K maybe.... then you have the back half work, cage, wheels/tires, etc... maybe it is not that bad of a deal. I could see walking much easier from this if it were not a 63 chevII... Good luck... when all else fails, PRAY about it. God Bless, Scoot

Tod74 07-24-2010 03:21 PM

If it were a 66 or 67 it would be worth more in my opinion. One of the best looking cars ever for a race car. JMO

signsbyesa 07-24-2010 03:22 PM

well rigs, how in gods world are you? im good brother,

i thank all the feed back on this car, the owner "kenny" like i posted
before, he would need 7k just to come out even, but he would take
6k, and this thing was built good for him, to keep, not enough time
to work on it, as the rust shows, and im concerned about the rust
around the windows, but yea all the metal is done from the trunk
to the front, he has both metal/fiber fenders and hood with the car,
but still just thinking about it for now, long haul, and right now
my work is piled til september, ernest in tx!

traysvega 07-25-2010 04:41 PM

Nice...Like it much better than your first pick..

Tod74 07-25-2010 04:43 PM

I want that car. I would trade him in a minute.

I'd have to block sand down that orange paint and paint it Blue but other than that that's a nice ride.

traysvega 07-25-2010 04:57 PM

Kinda like my Yellow vega.Didnt like yellow, ever. But with time, its kinda grown on me. ......I'd run it orange...Might even name it "ORANGE PEEL"....
