What's youre longest time of car ownership ?
Mine is my 1961 Mercury Meteor 600 2dr sdn w/460/C6 One of 18 left alive in the U.S.A. - 18,000 total mfgd - 22 years and not another single human being ever drove it in that whole time.

1979 Elky, i bought it summer of 1986, ground up resto, bumper to bumper, everything new. It rolled out of the paint booth Dec. 24th 1988, and still has the same paint on it today, guess that would be almost 25 yrs. Something i've had longer than 2 wives combined. I'll never sell it.
little bit of water on the hood i had just washed it. Zip. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...l_Camino-2.jpg |

http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t...48/Scooter.jpg It is sad looking at the picture & seeing how young my son was... that night I remember he fell asleep in that car (front seat) & his head bobbled into the roll bar... he tried so hard to be tough & not cry... I felt so bad & padded it when I got home. Scooter |
Hey Scooter tell him not to worry about hitting his head and crying. Life is a LOT SIMPLER (and more fun) when we are still young enough to cry.
Maybe wait till he's 30 and tell him. He'll understand then. |

:( :( :( I cried inside when my Merc went byebye. Crying has a renewing effect on ya, time to go on to the next exciting part of your life ! :D :D
An old friend says "Goodbye".........The real bummer is, I could only get 2K for him...Not a highly desirable collector car. http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...MVC-002F-3.jpg |

Was a real fun car !! I'm a hardcore RACER and I was starting to do some stupid stuff on the street with it. My other two real race cars were not yet finished and I had no outlet for my speed fix , so I let it go before I go hurt or lost my driving privileges.

Long term car ownership
I have had my 30-32 Ford roadster street rod since 1966! About traded it to a GTO one time but thank Heaven my brother made me see the light! Do wish I had had the money to trade with the Ford dealer who offered me a 289 COBRA for $2000 difference! It is the first car that I had on the road that was mostly legal and I'm glad to say I kept my first car! It is metalflake blue with white convertible top, SBC, 2-'61 Vette WCFB's, 4-speed, '49 Mercury rear, '32 Z'd frame, '32 radiator shell, Ford steel body and steel '49 Harley fenders, flat face SW gauges, Cragar spokes, etc. I'm trying to bring it back to its glory one more time! Will post a picture if I can figure out how. By the way, Rigsby, I about cried too when obama went in. Please wake up America and VOTE out the professional politicians ASAP!

I bought a 68 Camaro 327 4-speed back in early 1990. Painted it, engine rebuild, suspension rebuild, etc. Loved that damn car, drove the doors off and she always took my abuse! Sold it in early 2000 after the wife got sick and bought her 79 Trans Am to get her mind off things. That 68 Camaro wasnt my 1st F-body and by far my last but she was my favorite, many a night drinking beer and wrenching on her. I havent seen her in over 10 years, thats a good thing cause I would tap the savings and buy her back at any cost :!:
