Importing Cars To Australia
G'day, My name is John and i live in Australia. Im a huge camaro fan and am in the process of trying to import a 67/68 camaro from the usa. Would anyone on this forum know of companies that send vehicles to Australia. It can be a little scary in regards to the process of importing a car from the other side of the world. Offcourse i am also talking to local importing companies here in australia.
cheers |
G'day John, I am from The Netherlands and also importing a car from the states. I work with an American transportcompany called Rinkens. They are specialised in shipping cars all over the world. They have good service and I think very competitive prices, can really recommend them.
They will also have a cusotms clearence agent in Australia. If you ask them they will give you the name of their agent and you can you can check with them what the importing costs will be. That gives you a good total picture. www.rinkens.com Hope this helps you. Anton. |
:( and I thought shipping was expensive!

Notice both are first time posters?
That's can be a way of backwards advertising. I could log on as "83olds" and ask where can I buy a good helmet? Then log on later under "fordracer99" and say "Hey I just bought one from Crossbones Motorsports they have the best prices on awesome helmets!!!!!". Just a marketing ploy. |
Well it is not and I hope I can help that guy with importing a car. You guys should be proud that people so far away take all the hassle to import a car from your country.
Anton. |
sorry mate was just trying to ask a question. Its nice that bram0507 was trying to help me thankyou. I guess i shall ask my questions elsewhere. Thanks again bram0507....

If you guys are really what you say then great!
And welcome to the site! It just seems we are getting alot of spam on here lately. |
I understand. Sometimes I get the idea you are more afraid for fraud from overseas then I have to be from your side.
Anyway, this time it's just a honest car enthousiast!! |

G'day John,Forget the PARANOID(i notice he used his own brand name to SELL his point)I'm in W.A. and used a guy in S.A. it was pretty painless. He can use his finance broker in the U.S. which got me a better rate of exchange on the dollar,he does the whole lot.American muscle Car Imports.Another avenue is Roly Laehy(check spelling) up in QLD.Both are drag racers and take a bit of pride in customers cars.NOT advertising for anyone just trying prevent a fellow countryman from getting touched up by some scamming prick on the other side of the planet.AKO.

I saw your previous posts. I would not question you or topfool. Because you both have been here awhile and have other input and questions on the site. It's the people with only 1 or 2 posts that you have to watch. |
Importing car from states
HI
I bring in Cosworth cars from the UK I have a friend called Steve White @ cargo online in Sydney He is very good and does US to Australia as well all the time Tell him Jeff Chalker gave you his number here is their website for contact details http://www.cargoonline.com.au/ regards Jeff |
I may just be some pee-on dude who frequents this site as a member, but slowmotion did nothing wrong.... he brings up a good point too, the Scams are thick here right now! Futhermore, he made a observation only... no harm done. In my opinion, if you are "butt-hurt" about his comment, perhaps you would be better off visiting the "Hemmings" or DuPont Registry website/chat room... maybe more your style. JMO

RE: Importing Cars To Australia
<!--td {border: 1px solid #ccc;}br {mso-data-placement:same-cell;}-->Australia has incredibly restrictive laws for this, designed to protect the local car industry and local car dealers. Cars imported here are subject to quarantine laws. You can import cars into Australia but you have to hire ACC customs clearance agents in Melbourne to help you with this task. In Australia many rules are available to ship any product. That’s why you need someone to order your product with hassle-free mind.
