Any cracks in the lifter bores? Did you use the same lifters or new ones?
If they were new did you bleed the lifters before install?

OK, now everyone can start hammering him with the 3/4 Corvette cam jokes!

I did some research a while back and found out where the 3/4 camshaft came from.
Ed Winefield was the maker and actually sold "full race cams" and "three quarter race cams".

According to the recollections of Harvey Crane Jr.,
""Ed told me he first made only two masters, a semi race grind and a full race grind," Crane wrote. "He later made a third master that was more duration and lift than the semi but less than the full. He then used the full race master as an intake and the new master as an exhaust. He called this new reground camshaft a three-quarter race cam. Ed said, 'It was three-quarters of the way to a full race cam.' "

So there really was such thing as a 3/4 race cam.
I would imagine a southerner shortend it to 3/4 cam and confuses the racing word forever! lol

You can google Ed Winfield and find a lot of automotive history about him.

Sorry again Lively.

SBC or BBC

It seems like these cam problems are becoming more frequent. Approximately how much running time on the cam ? As long as spring pressure was proper, break in lube used, and you did a visual under the valve covers, You may need to remove the intake and check that the cam lobes did not go flat. I have seen alot of that this year. I have spoken to some motor builders that I trust and they agree it happens ??????????

cam

Cam may have broken, I would avoid cranking it and take off the intake
Is it a SBC or BBC ?
