looks like we both got lucky, mikeaton. I did a little homework on the guy. Ken is a distributor for MAC manufacturing (who designed the part i purchased). I decided to get a hold of MAC customer service and I let them know how sandy_river was treating his customers and how he was dragging the MAC name through the dirt. MAC sympathized with me and told me that it would be taken care of in week. 2 days later, I got my refund overnighted to me from Ken Hilton himself. congrats to you mikeaton, and thanks to all the guys here that chipped in!
