You can read this on Jerry Stahl's web site, i looked at his advise after considering going to 2 1/8" heads on my 434" motor that's going in my Malibu.
I decided to go to the Hooker weldup kit for 2 1/8" . Not available except from their high performance ctr. in Atlanta. I talked to a tech there and that's what he recommended.

PS, i'm running 1 7/8" Hooker supercomps in my Malibu with 377" motor now and it previously had a 406" motor in it. I also have a set of 1 3/4" to 1 7/8" step headers that i'm not even useing.
