Marathon Extraction Risk and Gear Loss
Every time I load into a match in Marathon, I keep thinking about how much is actually at stake. Since everything you bring into a run can be lost on failed extraction, it makes even basic decisions feel heavier. Weapons, mods, implants, consumables, and everything inside the backpack disappear if you die before the timer based extraction. I understand that Runner Level and faction reputation survive death, but gear absolutely does not. That risk makes me hesitate before entering tougher zones like Outpost or Cryo Archive. At the same time, better rarity gear increases mod flexibility and backpack credit value, so the temptation is there. How are people managing this balance between progressing and not wiping out their entire setup in one bad fight?
