no start
Ive got a new hei ignition on an amc 360 that i seem to think might be a problem. its chev style ignition, coil in cap.
its always started and run fine. last week it decided to not start after sitting for about 4 weeks.
i checked 3 plugs and got lots o spark at these. got gas, rotor turns, cap and rotor no cracks, turns over fine, just wont catch.
could a module cause this? do these coils either work or they dont?
what about the soilioid, can they do this? (remote solenoid on fenderwall)
any help would be great. im outta ideas.
thanks

In that vein, try squirting fresh gas into the carb and see if it catches before draining and refilling the tank/system.
"Got gas", does that mean you disconnected the fuel line at the carb and turned it over ? SAFETY NOTE; DO NOT let any gas spray onto ANY ignition component while doing this !! ops: ops: ops: I got the T-shirt from THAT one ops: ops:

motor starting
it is cracking really fast, faster than usual. I hope you did not break a timing belt or chain or gear.
Gas in the carb is a great idea, or a shot of starting fluid ,,,,, but as told above be careful
Good luck
also did you check the cap I have seen moisture and green oxidation under caps but show a spark at some plugs, maybe pull the cap and flip it over to check, just a thought

ok i does run when squirting gas into carb. but runs very rough then stops. i just found out the primary squirter is not working. secondary works great, and thats what i was looking at before. well duhhhhh on me for not taking a closer look into the carb. also should of known something was up when the primary diaphragm was dripping out the bottom.
more operator stupidity.
thanks all for the tips.
