Default Things could be worse

Well last weekend while at the races we had a water line burst in our upstairs bathroom, by the time it was discovered (about 5 hours later) it completely flooded the upstairs, the first floor and part of the basement. The restoration company said upwards of $40,000 in damage. Thank God for insurance. So for now we are staying in our camper in our driveway and our sons place. Looks like it could take 2 1/2 months to fix.

Well thats one way to update to newer stuff.... All jokes aside it really sucks when things like that happen. Hope it doesn't put you 2 out for too long. Just make sure that they take care of all the damage and don't let anything slide.........

That's what we said DD. Especially after the winter we had. They pretty much have everything out that has to be replaced and started putting insulation back in today.

That happened to our family about 11 years ago in Canton, MI. That along with the winters convinced my wife and I to move to Tennessee. I feel bad for you and your family. Better days are ahead.

Well it's been almost 6 weeks and they barely have the drywall hung and taped. Still need to finish so it can be painted. Then reinstall all the cabinets, then the nearly 1000 sq ft of hardwood flooring and the carpeting. We meet with the general tomorrow. I've been nice for 6 weeks it's about to come to an end. We'll see what he has to say.

Sorry to hear that El' Super-Beasto!! I guess things can always be worse... but that is a pretty big disruption in ones life. I guess we will not be eating dinner at your place for awhile...

Well we could still eat at our place if you want to do it camping style. That's what we've been doing for six weeks now. It's bringing back memories of when we built our house we did it for eight months. Hoping this goes a little quicker.
