Tree Readers and Race analyzers
Has anyone ran across another driver using any of these devices?
I recently got beat by a driver using the Race analyzer (Matty Box).
I also think he had a tree reader but I haven't found any information on the tree reader. The race analyzer is made by Richard Matty. www.mattyinnovations.com. I think it is bulls--t but until someone steps up and puts a stop to the damn cheating, I'm gonna do my part and find out as much info as possible so I will no what to look for.

Havent you ever heard of the Dirty Dozen ??
These boxes been around for years and are 100% legal in time trials. All they have to do is be unhooked.
IMO this post is BS ... tree reader, matty box who cares be .00 and dead on and you'll get the win light.
I dont agree with people that run them but its something that all of racing has delt with before.

I have heard of the "dirty dozen" but I didn't no what type of box they were using. I'm trying to get enough information on the systems so I will no what to look for. I no how the matty box works and how it is wired in but I haven't found any info on the LED bulb reader yet.

thats because you wont find anyone who actually has them on a site or anything .. and I doubt you'll find anyone who has one on a car

Ok...you got me. I'm a cheater. I have a device that intercepts the signal from the starter to the tree, allowing me to cut perfect lights every round. All I do is sit in the car. I really am not interested in running a profesional drag racing class that pays very well when you win...I get much greater satisfaction from beating the average Joe for a grand a race....sometimes I even run trophy....cause trophies on the garage wall are cool.

Several years ago I was told there was a local racer using one. The person couldn't prove it and I guess they weren't sure enough about it to protest the car. I hate cheating so I decided to try to do a little research to see how this worked and made some phone calls. This was before the internet was so popular and finding out about things took a little more than a few minutes on google. I called an outfit that was making delay boxes and the guy I was talking to immediately assumed I was trying to buy one of these devices and told me they were illegal. I told him so were delay boxes a couple of years ago and somebody was making those when they were illegal. I corrected him and explained to him that I wanted to know how it worked and how hard it would be to find the device in the car. He told me it would take a person that was knowledgeable in electronics because it would have to a homemade device. He said that the device would have to be activated after both cars were staged and the driver would have to be able to aim the sensor for it at the tree so the sensor would be most likely installed in the fingertip of a glove or the helmet. He said if I wanted to try to prove at least in my mind that a guy was using one to have someone with a flash camera position themself behind the tree in the stands sort of in line with the suspect vehicle and take a snap after the cars were staged. He said this would activate the device and the cheater would go red. I know a flash can be distracting to a driver that's not cheating but having a flash go off never caused me to go red. I stopped racing at the track the suspected chaeter was racing at and pretty much forgot about the conversation until several years later when I was in the tower at another track. There was a guy in there complaining about someone with a flash camera taking snaps while he was staged. This was a guy that was winning races 1st time out with a new car killing the tree right off the bat. Hmmm, kinda makes you wonder.....

I appreciate the comment gearhead. That is the same situation I'm in right now. As for the other bullshit comments, everybody wishes they could run the dial and go 00 on the tree. If your that good why are you running at bullshit races and posting bullshit comments. Just my 2cents.
If you don't have anything positive to comment keep it to yourself or maybe your one of the cheaters that doesn't want anyone to find out how the systems work. Food for thought :!:
