same oil leak
92 3.1L lumina, after using mobil 1 w/120k miles at the time
a leak started and got worse, the car was wrecked and I ended up with
another 92 lumina with only 40k miles, first oil change used mobil 1,
wk later a leak started, oil comes out as fast as you pour it in,
was told that mobil 1 eats the seals and gaskets that were not made for
syntheic oil, anyone else had this problem, going to pull the motor out. :x
mobil said i was full of peanuts, it was unheard of, and the car runs
great but pee's oil all over, might as well give it an over haul :x

check the oil pump drive. It is VERY common. It leaks down the back side of the block looking like the rear main. The drive is located on the top side underneath the throttle body. New o-ring on it and its good to go. I've replaced many, many of those..

well it is leaking at the oil pump drive but it was also leaking at
the front crank seal and timing cover, might as well rebuild
with more horsies, it would have been too easy just to change
the seal on the drive, the crate motor is $850. about the same
as new parts and machine work, performance cam is $130.
the wifes car will be a tire burner
