Electric fuel pumps, do i need a regulator?
What is the purpose of a regulator?
Thanks, Tom |
Yes you need a regulator, because most good electric pump are capable of puting out 12/14lbs of pressure and that sometimes will blow by the neddle and seats in the carb. Most people set the regulator at 8lbs.

If you're going on the cheap, Holley and Carter among others make a pump that doesn't need a regulator, Holley's red pump for example, I've run those alot with no issues.

I have the holly blue pump as well as the mallory 140 series i think it is.

Both of those pumps require a reg , they will run at about 12-14 psi you need about 7-8
