Electric fuel pumps, do i need a regulator?
 
What is the purpose of a regulator?

Yes you need a regulator, because most good electric pump are capable of puting out 12/14lbs of pressure and that sometimes will blow by the neddle and seats in the carb. Most people set the regulator at 8lbs.

If you're going on the cheap, Holley and Carter among others make a pump that doesn't need a regulator, Holley's red pump for example, I've run those alot with no issues.

I have the holly blue pump as well as the mallory 140 series i think it is.

Both of those pumps require a reg , they will run at about 12-14 psi you need about 7-8

Hey OZY..i would like to see more of your Mopar ?..
post some in the show off if you haven't already i will scroll over..

i am Chevy 1st...MOPAR 2ND.....Alawys been paretial to the Mopars since owning a 73 Doge Dart with a Canadian block 318 ..
red with white interior w/buckets and a white hockey stripe down the side..

Im chevy also but, I LOVE THE OLDS MOPARS!!! can remember riding my bike down to webster chysler, plymouth to see the new mopps in the showroom (that was a lloooonnnnggg time ago. show us more!!!!! David.
